Fear of terrorism is an animation that gives context to fear of death, in particular death by terrorism.

During my minor Visualising information I was given the task to visualise a paradox, where reality didn’t meet the data. I looked at the data behind dying, knowing how many people fear extraordinary deaths.

Using this data I explained how unlikely a death by terrorism is. I created context by showing more likely deaths, both normal and ridiculous ones. Using a humerous animation style the patronising aspect of the video was lowered, leaving viewers more open to the given information. This led to a better understanding of the fear of terrorism for viewers.
